emergency Man, 36, attacked on Gibraltar Street in Bolton

The incident happened yesterday (Tuesday 9th September) afternoon at around 4.55pm.

Greater Manchester Police have launched a criminal investigation after being called to reports of a 36-year-old man being assaulted on Gibraltar Street, Bolton.

As a result of the man's injuries, which were described as "potentially life-threatening", they were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No further details about the attack have been publicly released.

Police have also confirmed that so far no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. They have appealed for the public to come forward with any information or footage. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are believed to be leading the investigation.

Bolton CID can be contacted on 0161 856 5757, quoting log number 2629 of 9th September 2025. Members of the public can also call the non-emergency 101 number as usual.

Gibraltar Street is a residential road but also features a primary school, Pikes Lane Primary School. Given the time of 4.55pm, the school will only have finished for the day a short time earlier.
