Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital with "serious but not life-threatening injuries".
Officers from Greater Manchester Police were called to Wigan Interchange (Wigan Bus Station) at around 5.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 10th September), following reports of a stabbing taking place.
A man (42 years old) and teenage boy (15 years old) were found to have serious stab wounds and were transported to hospital. It was declared a "serious incident" by police, who are now appealing for the public to come forward with any information they may have.
Superintendent Danny O'Neil confirmed that a police scene was setup, with an investigation ongoing. In particular, CCTV and witness statements were obtained by officers. The area around Wigan Interchange also saw an increased police presence throughout the evening.
In relation to the incident police have arrested a teenage girl on suspicion of assisting an offender. As of yesterday evening she remained in police custody for questioning.
Services from Wigan Bus Station were disrupted following the incident, with buses being unable to stop at the interchange and having to be diverted via various nearby bus stops.
It is unclear if the two victims are known to each other, or whether the suspect has yet been arrested by police.
