Man in 20s stabbed on Gilmerton Drive in Newton Heath
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital following their serious injuries.
Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service were called to Gilmerton Drive in Newton Heath in the early hours of yesterday evening (Friday 29th August), following a stabbing. There was a very large presence by emergency services, with many police vehicles and ambulances responding.
The National Police Air Service was also summoned to the scene and a police helicopter could be seen flying above the area for over an hour. The helicopter then abruptly flew over to and circled the Whitefield and Radcliffe areas of Bury for a period of time, before returning to base at the Barton Aerodrome. It's unclear whether the activity is Bury was related, such as hunting any potential suspects.
