announcement Superdry to permanently close Trafford Centre store

The announcement comes just days before the closure this Saturday (6th September).

Two members of staff at the Superdry store in the Trafford Centre confirmed the closure. Physical signs have also been placed all around the store, and at the store-front, stating:

"Hello Manchester, We're closing for now, but watch this space, we'll be back soon!"

After speaking with staff, they confirmed the store was hoping to return to the Trafford Centre one day in the future, but there aren't currently any established plans to do so. Superdry would need to secure a new lease with the Trafford Centre to be able to return.

The last operating day of the store will be this weekend on Saturday (6th September 2025). After that the unit will be vacated. The Superdry staff said they didn't know which company would be taking over the floor space in the coming weeks.

While Superdry had a "meteoric rise" in the early 2000s, it has recently had to make some hard financial decisions and reconsider it's future. This year alone it has already announced the closure of stores in Aberdeen and Glasgow, as the wider industry deals with the impact of rising costs and the shift towards online shopping.

Following the closure, there will continue to be two other Superdry stores within the Greater Manchester area: one in the Manchester Arndale, and the other in The Rock in Bury.
