Alfie Holt, 20, charged with assaulting footballer Jack Grealish
They allegedly slapped the Manchester City player after yesterday's derby.
Alfie Holt, a 20-year-old (born 28th January 2005) from Haven Drive in Droylsden, was arrested by police and subsequently charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) with assault, following an incident involving Jack Grealish at yesterday's Manchester derby (Sunday 6th April).
The criminal charge alleges that Holt slapped Grealish across the face after the fixture, when Grealish was making their way off the pitch. They are not believed to be substantially injured following the incident. Holt is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on 14th July, 98 days from now.
The Premier League derby between Manchester City and Manchester United ended with a nil-nil result, after Grealish was substituted onto the pitch at the 74th minute of play, seeing approximately 20 minutes of action. Grealish, who lives in a mansion in Cheshire, plays for both Manchester City and the national England football teams.
